Like many of us, when Covid struck, I re-ignited a childhood passion – art!
At first, I enjoyed using coloured pencils and loved the detail that I could create with them, however, I soon found the pace to be far too slow for my liking! Then I decided to try my hand at watercolour painting and have since fallen in love with this medium.

About Kelly
Hi, I’m Kelly — a Scottish artist with a deep love for animals, open spaces, and the quiet magic of nature. I’ve always found peace in the natural world, and my art is a reflection of that connection. Whether it’s a misty forest, a snowy field, or the gentle, expressive eyes of an animal, I try to capture the feeling of calm and wonder these moments bring.
Growing up in the countryside, animals were my closest companions, and being outside was where I felt most at home. My horse Baylea, who was with me for an incredible 28 years, shaped much of who I am today. She wasn’t just a horse—she was a source of comfort, freedom, and joy.
Through her, I discovered the quiet beauty of forests, the peacefulness of snowfall, and the importance of slowing down and appreciating the moment. She continues to inspire many of my paintings.
Art for me is a way to reset, to breathe, and to come back to myself. Prioritising what makes me happy has helped me build a more meaningful life, and painting is at the heart of that. I hope my work offers you the same escape, even if just for a few minutes.
“Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.” ~ Twyla Tharp
